Hellman Electric, in joint venture with Paul J. Scariano, Inc., was awarded the design-build contract for comprehensive electrical and infrastructure upgrades at both the Bronx-Whitestone and Verrazzano-Narrows Bridges. The scope of work includes 5kV feeder installations, SCADA/PLC system modernization, fiber optic and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) enhancements, and substation upgrades across multiple critical facilities.

Leading the electrical construction effort, Hellman is delivering greater reliability, power redundancy, and system resiliency to two of New York City’s most vital bridge crossings—ensuring these critical transportation links remain safe, efficient, and future-ready.
