Hellman Electric’s roots originate from one of New York City’s oldest electrical contracting firms, John G. Hellman Company Incorporated. Under John G. Hellman’s leadership, two young electrical professionals, Robert Hellman and Stanley Plonchak honed their skills that would later enable them to revitalize Hellman Electric for a future generation.
In 1978, the two young men re-incorporated the company and under the leadership of the third- generation talent and a specialty partner, the current Hellman Electric was created. Operations were relocated from New York City to the southern shadows of the Whitestone Bridge in Queens. There they developed a core competency and expertise in heavy highway and aviation electrical construction. Since then, the firm has continued to grow and expand its capabilities into additional markets including commercial, industrial, institutional and data communications. In 2004, the company moved its operations to the northern side of the Whitestone Bridge in the Bronx within a brand-new state-of-the-art headquarters.
As of 2020, the company is even stronger and mature, employing over 250 professional managers, engineers and electrical installation experts. As the needs of Hellman Electric have increased, the company has expanded and transformed into a fully integrated firm that meet the needs of any type of electrical installation and construction project.
