Steven Lazzaro is the Principal Owner of Hellman Electric and serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Lazzaro is responsible for all daily and long-term corporate operations and endeavors. He holds the Master Electrician’s License for Hellman Electric.
With 20 years of experience in the electrical construction industry, Lazzaro has successfully managed a variety of projects of more than $70 million. These projects ranged from airport and aviation to roadway lighting and Intelligent Transportation Systems. Further lending to his successes is his ability to command authority during project meetings and force the issues that benefit the company. Lazzaro is also well-versed in estimating and has a strong computer background.
Lazzaro graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He has also served numerous leadership positions within the electrical industry including President of New York Electrical Contractors Association and Governor of the New York City Chapter.
Lazzaro sits on non-industry boards as well and plays an active role in other associations. He co-founded Contractors for a Cure, which has raised over a half of a million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He is extremely active with The Boy Scouts of America and serves as a mentor for Manhattan College engineering students.
John Eremita is the Chief Financial Officer of Hellman Electric and has been with the company for over 30 years. With over 35 years of construction accounting experience, Eremita is credited with developing company-specific accounting software, streamlining project information and capital investment growth. Under his direction, his division maintains detailed job cost summary sheets for all projects to provide accurate, up-to-date financial pictures for all projects.
Eremita holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration in Finance, both from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York.
Sal Caputo is Hellman Electric’s Chief Operating Officer, where he brings 35 years of experience and leadership to the position.
Caputo’s career has spanned the gamut of the electrical industry from his humble beginnings as a college helper to eventually becoming the President & Chief Executive Officer of one of the country’s leading and largest electrical contractors. In 2011, Caputo launched his own electrical consulting services company where he used his expertise to help clients address their key challenges, analyze industry requirements and provide cost effective solutions.
By late 2013, Caputo took his expertise and knowledge of the interior electrical and design-build market and entered into a partnership with Hellman Electric where they formed the company’s new interiors and core and shell construction division
Allen Cavalluzzi is Chief Estimating Officer and Partner of Hellman Electric. Cavalluzzi is responsible for directing Hellman’s Estimating Division. He coordinates and schedules projects for estimation using a proprietary program that he developed for the firm. Cavalluzzi has nearly three decades of experience in the electrical construction industry and is certified in Building Electrical Design.
Cavalluzzi earned a Bachelor of Engineering from Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York. He also holds a Certificate in Electrical Design & Construction from New York University’s Real Estate Institute.
Carlos Casal serves as the Senior Vice President of Project Management for Hellman Electric overseeing a staff of twenty-five professionals working on over $200 million in contracts. With over 19 years of experience in the electrical industry, Casal has been active in Hellman Electric since he began working at the firm as an intern while in college studying for his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Casal is versed in estimating, project scheduling and comprehending the technical aspects and complexity of the many ITS and Security projects the company performs. His capabilities as a team leader continue to provide exceptional vision and guidance to the firm’s complex electrical installation projects.
Thomas Caruso is the Vice President of Operations for Hellman Electric’s Data Communications Division. He has over 30 years of experience and over 20 years of operations management experience.
Caruso’s leadership experience plays a critical role in enabling Hellman Electric to bid for and complete large-scale infrastructure projects. He has over 10 years of experience in the installation and operation of co-generation and green technology equipment. Caruso also has past public utility leadership experience with Consolidated Edison in New York combined with more than 20 years of experience in telecommunication leadership roles. These roles included engineering design, installation and maintenance of ILEC and CLEC networks with past management positions at Efficient Power Technologies, Jacoby Electric, Power Optech, Con Edison communications, Bell Atlantic and NYNEX.
Caruso earned a Certificate in Advanced Telecommunication Management from the University of California, Marshall School of Business.
Jerry Dolak is Vice President of the Power Distribution team at Hellman Electric and brings over 35 years experience in the electrical power industry. He has constructed, modified and/or repaired over 150 Con Edison 208 volt, and 480 volt network service installations throughout the New York City metropolitan region.
From working as a design engineer in a major New York City consulting engineering firm to previously leading two specialty power and testing companies, Dolak brings practical and detailed hands on experience to Hellman Electric. He has the management and theoretical technical skills to manage, troubleshoot, maintain, and construct complex power related projects.
Dolak is a Manhattan College graduate engineer.

Joe Esposito
General Superintendent

Joe Esposito is Hellman Electric’s General Superintendent and brings over 20 years of experience as a trained electrician. Graduating from the Electrical Apprenticeship program and holding a Local Union #3 “A” Journeyman’s card, Joe Esposito has held multiple positions in the construction industry throughout the years.
Esposito gained hands-on experience in construction methodologies and field management from electrical journeyman to foreman. His successful tenure as a foreman led Hellman Electric to train Esposito in Project Management. Upon leaving the field for this new role, Esposito held the position of Project Engineer, assisting Senior Project Management and gaining valuable experience in the overall management of contracts. He was soon promoted to Project Manager, where he ran multiple projects of varying sizes. His field expertise and well-developed contract oversight later landed him a Senior Project Manager position at Hellman before becoming an Assistant Superintendent. Now, as General Superintendent, he will be responsible for overseeing all field labor operations and will be our field labor liaison with IBEW Local Union #3.
